![]() I love swimming and try to get to the gym to do that on my days off, as well as explore the great outdoors whenever I get the chance. ![]() ![]() Outside of my business hours, you can find me hanging out with my son Caleb, my fiance Giovanni, and our two cats Evie and Momo. (No more razor burn or DIY at-home waxing horror stories please!) Sage Wax Lounge was founded on the premise that EVERYONE should have access to a safe, clean, welcoming, and inclusive place to get waxed. The whole thing was just a hot mess- AND NOBODY WAS TALKING ABOUT ANY ALTERNATIVE METHODS OF HAIR REMOVAL! Getting waxed, especially getting a Brazilian, remains such a taboo topic, and my aim is to change that. I was always breaking out around my bikini line and legs with razor burn and my underarms would get so itchy everytime I shaved them. Up until that point, I was shaving all the time and my skin absolutely hated me for it. Once I realized how much more convenient it was than shaving, I knew I wanted to share that with the world. My intro to waxing happened during esthetician school. You can trust that your are in a safe and welcoming space.Ī little about me! 6 years ago I got my esthetician license and knew immediately I wanted to wax people for a living. I am happy to welcome all gender identities and expressions at Sage Wax Lounge PS. Living in Palm Springs has allowed me the privilege to have access to some great outdoor spaces and queer nightlife (drag bingo, anyone?!)! When I’m not waxing you can find me dancing around my apartment to Diana Ross (disco ball included), grabbing some local produce at the farmers markets or enjoying time with my friends and family. I’ve learned to love my body wholly over the years - fuzz free or not and I’m passionate about helping others feel safe and confident to explore and express themselves too. My body hair became so much more manageable and it helped me to have a greater appreciation for my body hair. Once I found waxing it was a game changer. It didn’t feel acceptable or feminine to have hair in some of the places I did and I spent so many hours trying to maintain every follicle. I’m Latinx and I’ve struggled with accepting my body hair my whole life. I’m April (she/her) and I’ve been licensed as a Cosmetologist since 2015! I initially pursued a career in hair - on top of people’s heads, but took a turn south and fell in love with waxing! I started working with a high volume Brazilian wax salon and immediately found a passion for hair removal.
